Welcome to our Guesthouse on the Hiwassee River. If your looking for a quick recharge, an outdoor adventure or a romantic getaway we believe our place might just do the trick! Located halfway between the small towns of Murphy (15 mins) and Hayesville (10mins), and approximately 2 hours from (Asheville, Atlanta, Chattanooga, Knoxville, Grenville..). Built initially in 2006 as a mother in-law quarters the Guesthouse is detached from our home separated by an 8ft walk/ breezeway and is perched above the river on a moderately wooded one acre lot with 200ft frontage on the river. The Guesthouse has 1 bedroom (queen bed) and a loft (2 twins). Bedroom, bathroom, living room, kitchen/dining area are on the main floor. Guesthouse is finished with solid hickory wood floors throughout, spruce tongue & groove ceilings. The kitchen is equipped with a gas stove, microwave, refrigerator, solid granite counter tops and is stocked with everything you need to prepare a home-cooked meal. In the bath you'll find a glass enclosed travertine shower, granite countertops and heated travertine floors. If the weather keeps you indoors, there's a 50inch flat screen and a DVD player with an assortment of movies to enjoy. We also have board and card games and books . You can enjoy your morning coffee or evening cocktail on the deck letting the sound and view of the river do it's magic. The river is what brings most folks here, you can enjoy kayaking, tubing ,fishing etc, (we do not provide canoe,kayaks or float tubes) . There's also a firepit to enjoy. We are located a 20 minute drive from Lake Chatuge, where you can rent boats for fishing, skiing, or just cruising the lake. We are pet friendly and accept medium size dogs and cats (declawed) with an pet fee of $50 per pet with a maximum of 2 pets. If you aren't familiar with the area, since we live here, we can help with any ideas of things to see and do during your stay. We look forward to sharing our piece of PARADISE here on the river with you.

Summary: Our visit to the Guesthouse was a very quiet and relaxing stay. We had friends that lived in the area about 30 years ago, so it was fun exploring and re-acquainting ourselves with the area and experiencing many new places. The Guesthouse was so relaxing as we enjoyed sitting out on the deck and listening to the river right below us. It was one of the better anniversary adventures that we have experinced.
